Meet Melissa Heaman and Krista Ripley, the dynamic duo leading St. James Massage. With years of experience in the field of massage therapy, they bring their unique skills and passion to create a calming and healing environment. Both Krista and Melissa are committed to tailoring treatments to individual needs, combining a variety of therapeutic techniques.

Melissa Heaman RMT

Melissa Heaman, a registered massage therapist, has a career in therapeutic massage that spans over a decade. After graduating from Evolve College of Massage Therapy (formerly the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba) in 2010, she began her professional journey in Winnipeg.

Throughout her career, Melissa has integrated a wide range of techniques into her practice, including cupping, IASTM, Thai table massage, myofascial release, and diverse stretching methods.

Her treatments frequently incorporate a myofascial component, reflecting her understanding of the body’s interconnectedness. With a passion for continuous learning, Melissa regularly pursues additional training to broaden her skills and enhance the therapeutic experience she provides.

As a dedicated member of the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba (MTAM), she is committed to offering top-tier care to all her clients.

Taylar Duthie RMT

Taylar Duthie, a Registered Massage Therapist, graduated from Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy with honours in 2012 and her professional journey started in Winnipeg in 2013.

Throughout her career, Taylar has taken additional training in TMJ disorders, joint rehabilitation, joint mobilization, and cupping. Taylar’s approach to treatment blends relaxation with deeper therapeutic techniques to address specific issues and the body as a whole.

She frequently takes additional anatomy courses in order to reaffirm her understanding of how the body is interconnected, as well as other training/modalities to enhance her therapeutic abilities. She has completed core stone massage courses, adding to her modalies. 


John Dobbin RMT

John Dobbin, a seasoned practitioner with over 16 years of experience in massage therapy, is a proud graduate of the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba class of 2008. His journey in this field began in Winnipeg, where he has developed a deep connection with the community, particularly in the St. James-Charleswood neighbourhoods, where he has been a resident since 2004.

John’s expertise encompasses a broad range of massage therapies, including deep tissue, Swedish massage, injury recovery, and workplace treatments. He has also proficiently incorporated Ultrasound technology into his practice, a technique he has been perfecting for the better part of a decade.

Outside of his professional life, John is an enthusiastic supporter of the Jets and Bombers, embodying his love for his city and its people. His dedication extends beyond his work, as he continually seeks to contribute positively to the wellbeing of those around him.

Krista Ripley RMT

Krista Ripley, a Registered Massage Therapist, graduated with honours from the McKay School of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Saskatoon in December 2000. She began her professional journey in Brandon, her hometown, in February 2001, before setting her roots in Winnipeg in 2012.

Krista’s foundational education in Swedish Massage, covering both relaxation and therapeutic treatments, has shaped her comprehensive approach to client care. As a testament to her dedication to professional growth, she has expanded her skill set to include Thai Massage, cupping, and Reiki.

Outside the clinic, Krista nurtures her creativity by reading and painting, enjoys quality time with her family, and takes strolls with her dog, a familiar face around the clinic.

Margot Effler (Maggie), RMT

Margot Effler, known as Maggie, is a Registered Massage Therapist who graduated from Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapies in 2016 with a solid foundation in Swedish Massage and osteopathic assessment techniques.

Since then, Maggie has pursued additional education in various specialties, including Prenatal Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Rib Mobilization, Reflexology, Athletic Taping, and Palliative Care. She is also a Certified Doula, Childbirth Educator, and a Lactation Counsellor in training. Driven by a desire to offer comprehensive care, Maggie regularly seeks additional training in complementary modalities to enhance her ability to address her clients’ diverse needs holistically.

Maggie’s massage treatment style utilizes moderate pressure adjusted to your comfort level, with pinpoint deeper work only when and where it’s needed. She integrates her training in additional modalities into her treatments as necessary to help clients achieve their wellness goals.
